My experience in Short term coaching of GATE Electrical @ ACE Hyderabad.

Dear Friends,

I had taken summer short term coaching of GATE Electrical at Dilsuknagar Branch of ACE Academy. As I am from NIT Hamirpur the core subjects like Power Electronics and some part of Power Systems are covered in my Second year. So I have decided to join for short term coaching at the end of the second year itself. For the other students who aren't aware of Power Electronics and Power systems, I will not recommend them for coaching in second-year summer because they will face some level of difficulty in understanding and problem solving as there is no time for revising the things. The schedule of classes was very hectic, the classes scheduled between morning 6 am to an evening at 9 pm and some breaks in between. The hectic schedule because of the heavy syllabus for GATE especially for the Electrical branch and classes will run on Sundays also.
I am really surprised with myself that how can am able to sit for such long hours listening to the same subject continuously for 3hrs there were also some days where the same subject has been taught the whole day as I feel very difficult to listen even for 45min in College, But the excellent faculty of ACE Academy made  Subjects like a thriller movie I bet you will not keep an eye on the time during the classes, Truly I had a wonderful experience.
There are 7 batches for short term courses starting from S1-S7 I have joined S5 batch. I would recommend joining the starting batches like S1 and S2 and S3 because for these batches subjects will be taught in order like the basic subject required for other subjects like Networks and EMFT will be taught first for the other batches the subjects are taught based on the availability of the faculty for us the Networks subject was taught at the end. One disadvantage is these batches are very crowded so people fight for the front benches so you need to come to the classes a little early or else you will end up sitting in backbenches. As the last batches have less strength most chances are there to combine two or more batches. For us, they have combined S5, S6, and S7.
When it comes to hostel choose the hostel nearer to the Academy as you can save time in breaks and revise the things as this is the only time you get for revision.

Why We Shouldn't Give NIRF Ranking a Paramount Importance While Choosing a College for B.Tech?

The National Institutional Ranking Framework is an approach adopted by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, to rank organizations of advanced education in India. The Framework was endorsed by the MHRD and launched by the Minister of Human Resource Development on 29 September 2015. S ome people blindly fill the Choices according to the rank given by the  National Institutional Ranking Framework( NIRF) this was the case with me too while choosing colleges through JEE Mains. I have put the list of colleges in the order they have ranked by NIRF. Is this the right thing to do???  Definitely Not. NIRF ranks the colleges with certain parameters given below: i) Teaching, Learning & Resources (TLR): This parameter adds 40% to the Ranking, It includes Faculty-Student ratio, Library facilities, laboratories, and sports facility and extracurricular activities. ii)   Research and Professional Practice (RP): This adds to 15% to the Ranking of the in...
